Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
With the big 50 approaching at the end of 2013, I thought I would set myself a few challenges this year, to learn some new skills, raise some money for charity, and in an attempt to keep fit & healthy!
My first challenge on the 19th/20th January is to walk 90 miles in 2 days round 7 of the white horses of Wiltshire. Much of the walk will be done in the dark and currently snow and sub zero temperatures are also forecast ...
Whilst doing this extreme walking I want to raise money for the Trussell Trust Foodbanks.
13 million people live below the poverty line in the UK.
Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. Trussell Trust foodbanks provide a minimum of three days emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK.
In 2011-12 foodbanks fed 128,687 people nationwide. The Trussell Trust partners with churches and communities to open new foodbanks nationwide. With over 250 foodbanks currently launched, their goal is for every town to have one.
